Why should I pay to have a website designed?
Trust me, if there were a website-building tool that actually made accessible, standards-compliant, and easy-to-use websites…I’d be using it. Until that day comes, I will continue hand coding every website I produce. By building websites this way, I can ensure that all pages will display perfectly to all customers, regardless of the internet browser they use, or any personal settings on their computer. The fact is, websites built automatically by cheap software may have a somewhat attractive exterior, but will certainly be comprised of code that will cause several problems. This is a serious issue for two reasons:
- If search engines can’t read your code…your site won’t be part of their results. Basically, potential customers won’t be able to find your website.
- Your site will look different in various internet browsers. Sometimes it will completely break and not even be recognizable. This makes your company look extremely unprofessional and it turns potential buyers away who can’t complete their purchases due to technical issues.
